The settings panel contains the global settings for Aquatica 3D
 
Enable screen saver Volume
Screen saver Wait time Number of fish on screen
Show Calendar Water reflections
Show messages Showing performance information
Message duration time Display warning messages
Play Sounds  

Enable screen saver
 
The enable screen saver check box will set Aquatica 3D as your default screen saver
 

To enable or disable screen saver:

  • Press Settings button and check the box to enable, or uncheck to disable Aquatica 3D as your default screen saver

Screen saver wait time
 
The wait time parameter is the time in minutes before the screen saver is activated after no mouse movement or any key is pressed on the keyboard
 

To increase or decrease the wait time:

  • Press settings button
  • Adjust the arrow up or down to set the screen saver activation time

Show Calendar
 
Aquatica 3D can display an on-screen calendar and current time
 

To set the calendar on or off:

  • Press Settings button
  • Check the box to display the calendar or uncheck to disable it

Show messages
 
You can disable the on-screen messages at any time without having to delete your messages
 

To set messages on or off:

  • Press Settings button
  • Check the box to display messages or uncheck to disable them

Message Duration time
 
The number of seconds between messages appearing on screen can be set
 

To set the message duration time:

  • Press Select button
  • Adjust the arrow up or down to set the duration time

Play Sounds
 
Audio output to your sound card can be enabled or disabled
 

To enable or disable the sound:

  • Press Settings button
  • Check the box to enable sound or uncheck to disable

Volume
 
The Overall volume of sound sent to your sound card can be set
 

To increase or decrease the sound level:

  • Press Settings button
  • Adjust the volume slider up or down

Number of fish on screen
 
The maximum number of fish that appear on screen can be set
 

To set the number of fish on screen:

  • Press Settings button
  • Press Performance settings button
  • Select Number of fish and adjust the slider up or down
  • Press OK to save your changes.

Water reflections
 
The global water reflections display can be enabled or disabled. Water feflections are the ripples effect that appear in 3D scenery. Water reflections will be ignored on scenery created with Scenery Maker.
 

To enable or disable the water reflections:

  • Press the Settings button
  • Press the Performance settings button,
  • Select Water reflections check the box to display or uncheck to disable
  • Press OK to save your changes.

Hint: Water reflection can decrease the performance of Aquatica 3D if your 3D graphics card is not able to run at the appropriate speed.


Showing performance information
 
Aquatica 3D can display the performance of Aquatica using your graphics card. If you have selected too many fish and a fast moving background and are using a slow graphics card the performance of Aquatica 3D will be compromised. Turning on the performance information will display the frames per second that Aquatica 3D is running for your current theme. The optimum performance should be at least 24 frames per second.
 

To enable or disable performance information:

  • Press Settings button
  • Press Performance settings button
  • Select Performance information
  • Check the box to enable performance display or uncheck to disable the display
  • Press OK to save your changes.

Display warning messages
 
Aquatica 3D monitors the maximum frames per second that it can display for your current theme. If the frame rate drops too low a caution message will appear when the screen saver is active. You may disable the Warning messages.
 

To enable or disable Warning messages:

  • Press Settings button
  • Press Performance settings button
  • Select Warning messages
  • Check the box to enable Warning message display or uncheck to disable the display
  • Press OK to save your changes.
